Notes
- Jean Archambault - “Jean Archambault“ is indicated in AFGS “Jette” book (ref JET 009) page 570 as Spouse #1, and “Jean Seeve” is indicated in “Dictionnaire Genealogique des Familles Canadiennes – Vol IV” (page 510) also as Spouse #1. “AFGS” “PRDH” database shows the “Hogue/Archambault” marriage, but (Generation 11.32) Marcel could not find a “Hogue/Seeve” marriage in the database. He did, however, find a “Nogue/Seve” record, which may be why we find “Seeve/Seve” as spouse to (Gen #4.1) M-Marguerite in the source documents. The “N” written in script “way back when” could have been interpreted as an “H.” The “Drouin” series for women shows a “Marguerite Hogue – d/o of Francois and Madeleine Douairon” marrying “Jean Sevre – s/o Jean and Marie Duchene” on “16 April 1755 – Ile St. Jean Acadie.” (Generation 11.32) Marcel guesses that “Jean Archambault” is the one and only correct spouse. (“Jean Seve” and “Marguerite Nog” have a son in 1760 (“PRDH” file #201026), five years after (Gen #4.1) M.-Marguerite’s death, a testament to (Generation 11.32) Marcel’s assumptions.)
- Jean Archambault redux - After Jean Seeve’s death, Marguerite “Nogue/Nog” remarries to Jean Baptiste Bergeron in 1765. He is also shown as spouse to (Gen. #4.1) M.-Marguerite in some source documents. However, (Generation 11.32) Marcel believes this is also incorrect due to the “Jean Seeve” connection described above. For this reason, J-B Bergeron has not been included as a spouse to M.-Marguerite.
- Claude & Marie Madeleine — Claude and Madeleine were twins and did not live long; Claude lived a day while Madeleine lived another day.
- Typically, the location of Canada is shown for familiarity purposes. At this time in Canadian history, it would have been known as “Nouvelle France” (New France). See (Generation 11.32) Marcel’s “Introduction” and “Story of Pierre” for additional information. New France became the British Province of Quebec in 1763 after France ceded it in the Treaty of Paris at the end of the Seven Years’ War.
