About
Damase was the youngest boy of nine in a house of 13 children. The age gap between Damase and his oldest brother, Lucien (b. 1901), is just over 20 years. Therefore it is unlikely that all 13 kids were under the same roof at the same time.
Damase served in the Navy along with close brother Paul (b. 1921). He would later work in the textile mills of Woonsocket and after that as a custodian and mail carrier for the Woonsocket Post Office until his retirement in 1985. He was also an amateur musician, augmenting his wages from the mills by playing trombone with a band called “Frenchy’s Red Jackets.”
Notes
- Obituary for Lucille states that she also worked in area textile mills and enjoyed collecting “knick-knacks” and spending time with her many grandchildren.
